So which Ergonomic Manufacturing Group product should you buy? Well, there usually is not one specific recommendation for solving everyone’s material handling issues. We do however have some generalities that can transfer over from one problem to the next. The first problem a person might encounter when deciding what purchase is whether to purchase a bridge crane or a jib crane. First is distance. Obviously a jib is not going to be able to cover the distance a bridge crane can. This is obviously going to be the biggest factor in the decision process.
While a bridge crane can be made to cover almost any distance, a jib is usually limited to a 12’ diameter span centered on the post. Abridge crane can cover much larger distances. Usually a bridge crane can be made with a bridge length of up to 23’ and a runway length of 103’. This allows a variety of options to meet both lifting situation and length of movement desired.
Another variable to consider is what kind of finish your require. All of our equipment is available in either stainless steel for wash down environments or regular mild steel for less caustic environments. Ergonomic Manufacturing Group happens to be the sole North American manufacturer of enclosed track stainless steel crane systems. If you decided to go with stainless, the options are a matter of choosing the right equipment for your specific application. However, if you decide to go with a mild steel crane you must make a few more choices then if you were going to purchase a stainless steel unit.

The biggest choice you must make if you decide to purchase a mild steel Ergo Sys Rail system is whether you would like to have it powder coated or painted. Powder coating is a far more durable finish, with multiple color options available to fit whatever the end user desires. Also, aside from being more durable then paint, we offer an FDA grade powder coating.

Another consideration to consider when purchasing material handling equipment is how you plan to attach your vacuum lifting unit to your material to be moved. Ergonomic Manufacturing Group has 1000’s of off the shelf end effectors to suit virtually any application. This is were Ergonomic Manufacturing Group can excel. Other material handling suppliers will force you to use an off the shelf solution. EMG Does not force our customers into one mold. If an off the shelf end effector does not work for your application EMG can modify our existing product to suit virtually any application.
